Byproduct Handling
Mikra develops byproduct handling solutions designed for efficient transfer, dosing and packing of mince and block material in demanding production environments. In the Skinney Þinganes project, the system automates filling on the mince and block line, integrating conveyor transport, x-ray-checked block flow, automatic box insertion and controlled dosing into an integrated packing process.
- Automated filling for mince and block material
- Integrated x-ray bone check before packing
- Automatic box insertion and controlled dosing
- Output of about 4 packed boxes per minute
Automated pouch handling for pet food processing
Mikra develops automated pet food processing solutions that support high throughput, efficient pouch handling and dependable downstream flow. The system shown here buffers and compacts stand-up pouches, transfers them to a formation conveyor, and uses robotic handling to place 45 pouches at a time into custom trays. A tailored tray design increases product density, while a deformation conveyor and swivel-arm transfer feed the pouches into the dryer before packaging.
- Handles two pouch sizes
- Upward of 100 pcs/min for smaller bags
- 45 pouches per cycle
- Custom tray design enabled 12% more product
